Hot-Air Balloons in Piedmont Park

What were you doing this time last year?

I was thinking about that over the last few days. 

Last year around this time, I spent a few days going back and forth to Piedmont Park in the evenings to watch and photograph the hot-air balloon glow. 

It was so much fun meeting new people who turned out to know some of my balloon friends from years ago. 

I was looking forward to meeting up with them at this year's balloon glow. In fact, my daughters and I were planning on going out to Albuquerque to the big hot-air balloon fiesta in October too. 

All plans canceled.

I miss Atlanta's fun summer festivals and hanging out with groups of friends and concerts, but... 

Canceled plans pale in comparison to being sick or dying, so I'll deal with it.

Do you feel this is never going to end, though? People are trying to get back to normal here in Georgia, but it's not quite working. 

As my youngest pointed out to me only a few minutes ago, Georgia has almost double the national average of new COVID cases right now. Yikes. 

I'll just keep working on my marketing and writing. I'm also going back through old photos and doing a lot of editing. It's the only thing I can do right now.

I do believe we'll see the other side of this but I think it's going to take a while. 

In the meantime, all I can do is stay as optimistic as possible.
