Have You Been to the PATH Museum?

PATH Museum in Atlanta

Have you ever been to the PATH Museum in Atlanta?

I hadn't either until this past weekend. My friend Sabrina told me about a talk that a couple of the artists were giving on Saturday afternoon, and we went and checked it out.

I love the idea behind the name PATH - it stands for Presenting Art That Heals. Art has transformative powers and has been shown to help people heal both physically and mentally. I've written about that before here

If you've been following me for long, you may remember some of the photos I took at Jekyll Island (like the one above), so you can imagine how much I loved the current PATH exhibit. The photos were taken on Cumberland Island, and the landscape is reminiscent of Jekyll Island.

I loved the mysterious quality of many of the photos. The photographers left a lot to the imagination, such as seeing a foot standing on an old ruin or a blurred man running through the frame against a backdrop of ominous clouds.

I'm making a list of places that aren't too far from Atlanta so I can take some short, inexpensive day trips to encourage my creative frame of mind. It's also great to go see exhibits like the one at the PATH Museum to get the mind thinking creatively.

My youngest was visiting from Chicago this weekend, so we had a busy few days. We went to my son's on Saturday morning for a while. Then I ran to the museum with Sabrina while my daughter was at a friend's baby shower.

On Sunday evening, my daughter and I went to my cousin's Oscar party. That was a hoot. She always does it up right.

I watched Poor Things on Monday evening after I took my daughter to the airport, and I enjoyed it immensely. It started slow and I wasn't sure I liked it, but the set design, costumes, and acting kept me hooked, and then I realized midway I was fully hooked. There's so much creativity in that movie!

I hope you had a great weekend and you're enjoying a wonderful week. Looks like spring is here, though I know Mother Nature might just be fooling with us here in Atlanta - it wouldn't be the first time.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and see you between the raindrops!

xoxo,
Susan
