How Do You Name a Photo?

Charming Doorways and More

I've mentioned for a while that I'm going to put a Cartagena, Colombia gallery on my website. I was hoping to announce today that it was there but, not quite yet - I'm so close!

It's not procrastination keeping me from getting it finished. I've been working hard on editing but I've hit a small snag before I upload everything.

What is it?

Naming my prints.

I try to come up with unique names for all my prints but it's not easy, at least it doesn't seem to be my forte.

The last time I got stuck, I sent a newsletter to my followers asking for help naming a specific print. I got so many great replies!

I don't expect everyone to help me every time I get stuck but it sure helps when the hive mind gets working on something, doesn't it? I'm always so impressed with the creativity.

The reason I'm having so much trouble with it right now is that I have at least 20 photos of doorways in the Old City of Cartagena.

I was enchanted with all the charming doorways I saw in the Old City. The bright colors, the doors themselves, the knockers, the mini-inset doors, and the surrounding foliage and flowers were all so beautiful.

I got quite a few photos of doorways. I think I mentioned in a previous post that we saw lots of paintings of doorways too. My daughter-in-law even bought a couple of small ones that now hang in her kitchen.

So...how do I name doorway after doorway?

I don't know if I should do a whole series and just name them Cartagena Doorway 1, 2, 3...etc.

Or, should I come up with a unique name based on the doorway itself? The above doorway could be something like Iguana Doorway - Cartagena.

I don't know.

As soon as I figure it out, I'll name the prints and get them uploaded to my site.

It's a bit of a process because I have to upload each photo and then write a little something about it and then do all the SEO, etc. It takes me a while!

In the meantime, I still have quite a few photos from Cartagena that still need editing.

I'm working on it but I'm struggling with my sinuses and a cold again. The sinus pressure gives me a headache and makes it hard to be on the computer for long. I'm praying this isn't another sinus infection.

I'm usually a really healthy person, but every so often I have a year like this - where I'm sick a lot. I guess this is one of those years. Ugh!

Just praying that this only lasts a few days so I can get the new gallery up soon.

See you between the raindrops!

xoxo,
Susan

Don't forget Mother's Day is coming up! I'll send out info for my Mother's Day sale soon. For now, you can take a look at my site and see if anything looks like a good fit for your mom.
